The Bon Vivant is a take on our Noyaux Boulevardier – The Beat of a Different Drummer. It was inspired by Sweden’s Jens Holmgren as a way to cope with the lack of availability of crème de noyaux. Amaretto is the closest thing to crème de noyaux – though not as sweet, so more is required to balance out the cocktail. We back that up with a slightly higher-proof bourbon. Nice, rich bourbon notes with a background of rindy bitterness is softened by the sweet almond notes from the amaretto. If you are able to get your hands on a bottle of crème de noyaux, then check out The Beat of a Different Drummer, our Noyaux Negroni (No Way, No How!), and the wonderful Pink Squirrel. Cheers!
