The Beat of a Different Drummer

2016-01-28

Ingredients

  • 1¾ oz. Bourbon
  • ¾ oz. Campari
  • ¾ oz. Crème de Noyaux

  • Add all ingredients, with ice, to a mixing glass. Stir to chill and strain into a coupe glass. Top with orange oil from the twist of an orange skin.

Essentially a Noyaux Boulevardier, this creation was inspired by our No way, No How! – a Noyaux Negroni. The Negroni and Boulevardier have a rich history and there evolution is closely related. You can learn more by checking out our Cocktail College video on the evolution of the Negroni. In The Beat of a Different Drummer, we replace the Boulevardier’s Sweet Vermouth with crème de noyaux. The result is a rich and sophisticated cocktail with an air of merriment. You’ll find nice rich bourbon notes with a background of rindy bitterness (from the Campari) which is softened by the sweet almond notes of the crème de noyaux. This cocktail is a real gem! Enjoy!
