Sorghum Sour

  • 2 oz. Rye or Islay Whisky
  • ¾ oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
  • ½ oz. Sorghum Syrup
  • 1 dash Orange Bitters

  • Add all ingredients to a mixing glass. Stir to dissolve the syrup. Add ice and stir to chill. Strain into a Nick & Nora glass and garnish with skewered cherries.

Liven up your Whiskey Sour with the malty/grassy flavors of Sorghum Syrup. A staple in southern pantries and made from sorghum grass – grown throughout Tennessee and Kentucky – this syrup will turn any standard classic into something even more special. Use your favorite Rye or, if you prefer a bit of peaty smoke, an Islay whisky (like Talisker). Be certain to check out all of the classics we’ve remained utilizing this wonderful sweetener. Cheers!
