Easy drinking and flavorful, this delightful concoction was actually the very first cocktail that Jeff ever had. The primary ingredient – sloe gin – is made with sloe berries from the blackthorne bush which grows throughout the English countryside. In England, sloe gin is traditionally made at home after harvesting the sloe berries from alongside the hedgerows or roadways. The berries, which are very bitter, are macerated in the botanical gin with sugar to make a rich, slightly bitter, plum and cherry-flavored liqueur with hints of almond and a residual bit of tartness. The sloe gin fizz is sweet with plum and cherry notes, a bit tart, fizzy, and lots of fun. Enjoy!
