Ingredients
- 2 oz Sweet Vermouth
- ½ oz Cynar
- 2½ oz Club Soda
- 3 drops Bittermens Burlesque Bitters (or similar)
- Shake the sweet vermouth, Cynar, and bitters with ice. Strain over the club soda in a Saucer Glass.
A simply silly drink that we discovered at Buckley’s in Milwaukee. It is a take on the classic Americano. The bitter component in the Silly American is the artichoke-driven Cynar – which replaces the Campari used in the Americano. Enjoy this fun, fizzy, and sweet drink, but brace yourself for the wall of complex bitterness that accompanies it in this well-balanced and wonderful cocktail. With a few of these under your belt, you will be silly – regardless of your nationality.
