Ingredients

  • 2 oz Tequila
  • 1 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice
  • ¼ oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1 oz Simple Syrup
  • 1½ oz Seltzer or Club Soda

  • Add all ingredients, except the Seltzer, to a Cocktail Shaker. Add ice and shake to chill. Strain into a Rocks Glass, over ice and amongst the seltzer, and garnish with a grapefruit slice.

This cocktail is traditionally made with tequila, lime juice, and a grapefruit soda (like squirt), in a highball glass with a salted rim. Our recipe is modeled after that from Distil Bar, here in Milwaukee. We essentially make our own grapefruit soda with fresh grapefruit juice, seltzer, and simple syrup. That allows us to adjust the sweetness level so we can showcase the tequila and fresh fruit the way we prefer. Nice, light, and refreshing, this is a perfect summertime sipper! We don’t salt the rim, preferring to let the light, tart, and refreshing fruit and complex tequila notes shine through. For a creative take on this calssic, check out our Radlersnake. Cheers!
