Moscow Mule

2013-09-01

Ingredients

  • 3 oz Vodka
  • 200 ml (6¾ oz) chilled Ginger Beer
  • ¾ oz Lime Juice

  • Stir the vodka, lime juice and ginger beer with ice in a Copper Mug.

The Moscow Mule is a delicious, tart, and refreshing summertime drink that is easily recognized by the frosted copper mug from which it’s drunk. In 1939 John Martin bought the rights to sell Smirnoff vodka (a spirit barely heard of in the US at the time) and traveled the country trying to sell it. Meeting up with Jack Morgan in 1946 at the Cock & Bull, they mixed the vodka with ginger beer, served it in a copper mug, and the rest is history. This classic is a perfect quencher for those hot summer days. Enjoy!
