Mezcal Last Word



  • 2 oz Mezcal
  • 1 oz Lime Juice
  • ¼ oz Green Chartreuse
  • ¼ oz Agave Nectar
  • splash Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur

  • Shake all ingredients, with ice, in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a Margarita Glass.

  • Garnish with a Lime Skin.

This delicious take on the classic Last Word cocktail utilizes mezcal in place of gin (and adds a hint of sweetness with a bit of agave nectar). From Chicago’s Blackbird restaurant, this complex and smoky drink is enhanced by using the near-mythical Pechuga mezcal – made by re-distilling the liquor with various fruits along-side a skinned and dressed raw chicken. Providing a sophisticated smoothness and depth of flavor, this subtly-smoky mezcal adds the perfect complexity to this fun variant of a classic cocktail.
