This is the cocktail we drink the most frequently. It is simple to make and arguably the most delicious combination of ingredients in all of cocktaildom. It is the perfect drink to enjoy when you want to relax, play poker, or contemplate the mysteries of life with friends. Some say this drink was invented in the 1880’s at New York’s Manhattan Club, but recent evidence suggests it originated down the street some 2 decades earlier. Traditionally made with rye, a Manhattan can be made with bourbon and even brandy (particularly if you’re in Wisconsin). We vary the brand of sweet vermouth, as well, so as to provide variation to this wonderful classic.
