The Jungle Bird is a delicious tiki drink which is believed to have been invented in 1978 at the Hilton’s Aviary Bar in Kuala Lumpur. New York’s Giuseppe Gonzalez tweaked the original by swapping out the dark Jamaican rum with blackstrap rum. A sophisticated quaff with a perfect balance of sweet, tart, and bitter, the Jungle Bird makes great use of the complex molasses flavoring from the blackstrap rum. Use some pineapple leaves (resembling feathers) to garnish this drink. If you like it, be certain to try our souped-up version of this cocktail the: Pterodactylus. Cheers!
