Hungarian Handlebar



  • 1 oz. Rye
  • ¾ oz. Zwack Unicum
  • 1 oz. Orgeat
  • 1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice

  • Add all ingredients, with ice, to a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into a mug or tumbler filled with crushed ice. Serve with a straw and garnish with a huge mint sprig.

This gem was made for us by the guys at Boutiq Bar in Budapest. Inspired by the Trinidad Sour and Fernet Sour, it has bold bitter notes from the Zwack and richness and depth from the Orgeat and Rye. The Zwack Unicum hails from Hungary and, like all ghastly bitter herbal spirits, was originally used medicinally. Enjoy!
