Huggin’ & Moonin’

Ingredients
- 1½ oz. Aquavit
- ½ oz. Campari
- 1 oz. Pineapple Juice
- ½ oz. Lemon Juice
- ½ oz. Simple Syrup
- Add all ingredients, with ice, to a cocktail. Shake to chill and strain into a Coupe glass. Garnish generously with grated nutmeg.
Here is yet another cocktail we created as a take on the Jungle Bird (see, also, our Pterodactylus and Flipping the Bird). This cocktail is pleasant and tart, with a slightly bitter bite and hints of earth and caraway (from the Aquavit) and a slightly tropical vibe from the pineapple. And because we are using the Aquavit, we couldn’t resist a Viking theme… In Norse mythology, Huginn (from Old Norse “thought”) and Muninn (from Old Norse “memory” or “mind”) are a pair of ravens that fly around the world and bring information to the god Odin. These wisened birds trump the rummy Jungle Bird – as this cocktail might, too. Now, we’re too “high-brow” to reference common juvenile behavior in our cocktail titles… So get your mind out of the gutter and get your nose in the glass and enjoy some Huggin’ & Moonin’. Cheers!
