Gran(d) Boulevardier
2016-04-24Ingredients
- 1½ oz. Bourbon (100-proof)
- 1 oz. Tempus Fugit Gran Classico
- 1 oz. Sweet Vermouth
- Add all ingredients, with ice, to a mixing glass. Stir to chill and strain into a double old fashioned glass over fresh ice. Garnish with an orange twist.
Our modernized version of the classic Boulevardier utilizes a Californian sweet vermouth – Vya – and the Tempus Fugit Gran Classico, in place of the Campari. The Gran Classico has an equally broad, yet less sharp, bitter edge compared to its cousin, Campari. The muted sharpness allows for the sweet vermouth to shine and makes for an overall sweeter version of the Boulevardier. Check out our New Age Negroni for our modern take on that cocktail – the Boulevardier’s cousin – and learn about the history and relationship of all of these cocktails in our Cocktail College video. Cheers!
