El Diablo Oscuro



  • 1½ oz Mezcal
  • ½ oz Crème de Cassis
  • ½ oz fresh Lime Juice
  • 3 oz Ginger Beer
  • 1 splash Cointreau

  • Add all ingredients (except the ginger beer), with ice, to a Mixing Glass. Stir to chill. Add the ginger beer and strain into a Coupe Glass.

  • Garnish with a Lime Wedge to float.

“The Dark Devil,” is the sinisterly smoky version of the classic El Diablo. This take on one of the original tequila cocktails offers up dark smoky notes from the mezcal (tequila’s smoky cousin) providing a refreshing drink that would make even the Devil crack a smile. The ginger beer and cointreau work well together as they tame the smokiness of the mezcal. This cocktail is complex and delightful and will get you through hell before the devil even notices you’re there.
