Here is yet another “improvement” on the Old Fashioned. The Old Fashioned was the original “cocktail” and was known, early on, as simply the Whiskey Cocktail. (To learn more about the “first cocktail,” check out our Cocktail College: History 101 video.) Our Burned-Coffee Old Fashioned is nice and pleasant, with complex notes from the bourbon mixed with the subtle tarry, bitter hints from the burned-coffee alongside the bright notes from the orange bitters and sweet rich elements from the maple syrup. You’ll need to check out how to make Burned-Coffee Infused Bourbon in order to create this one, and then check out the other Burned-Coffee Infused Cocktails we’ve made. Use it to liven up some of your favorite bourbon cocktails as well. Cheers!
