Aloe Vera Margarita2013-10-07
- 2 oz Tequila
- 1 oz Aloe Vera Gel*
- 1½ oz Orange Juice
- ¾ oz Cointreau
- ¾ oz Agave Nectar
- Vigorously muddle two 2"x3” pieces of peeled aloe vera leaf and strain through a fine mesh sieve to obtain the gel. Add the gel, tequila, orange juice, cointreau and agave nectar to a Cocktail Shaker. Add ice, shake vigorously, and strain into a Martini Glass.
- Garnish with an Aloe Vera Leaf tip.

Your basic Margarita is made with tequila, lime (for a citric sour), and a sweet component. Well… In this Margarita we utilize something that is more typically used in moisturizers and lotions! We’re using Aloe Vera gel (yes, it’s edible!) to add a viscous and slightly bitter component to this cocktail. It melds perfectly with the tequila, pairs nicely with the less tart citrus (orange), and sweet liqueur (Cointreau) and agave nectar. Enjoy this fun and tasty take on the classic Margarita!
