Ritz Cocktail

2015-10-06

Ingredients

  • ¾ oz. Cognac
  • ½ oz. Cointreau
  • ¼ oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
  • ¼ oz. Maraschino Liqueur
  • 2 oz. chilled Champagne

  • Add all ingredients (except the Champagne) to an ice-filled Cocktail Shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into a coupe glass over the Champagne. Garnish with an orange twist.

Created by Dale DeGroff in 1985 for New York’s Aurora restaurant, this pleasant, fizzy cocktail offers nice complexity and depth. You have the indescribableness of the maraschino liqueur along with the richness of the Cognac and sweetness from the Cointreau. Though a relatively contemporary cocktail, this tastes like something you’d be drinking in the 1950’s. Delightful! Enjoy!
