Ingredients

  • 2 oz White Rum
  • 1½ oz Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
  • 1 oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 oz Grapefruit Juice
  • ½ oz Lime Juice

  • Add all ingredients, with ice, to a Cocktail Shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into a Margarita Glass.

  • Garnish with a grapefruit twist.

The Papa Doble was one of Ernest Hemingway’s favorite drinks. I love to drink this while fishing and imagine that I’m battling a large marlin, despite reeling in the tiniest of bluegills. Often called Hemingway’s Daiquiri, the Papa Doble is a great combination of rum and maraschino cherry liqueur, which offers up a sharp, sweet and pretty-much indescribable taste. With nice tangy citrus notes, this is a cocktail that will take you 3 sips to understand. After that, you’ll want one every day all summer long!
