Lavender-Infused Gin

2015-05-28

Ingredients

  • 1 750ml bottle of Gin
  • 1½ tsp. dried Lavender Blossoms

  • Pour a bottle of gin into a clean lidded jar. Add ½ teaspoon of dried lavender flowers for each 250ml of Gin. Swirl gently. Allow the flowers to infuse the Gin for 24 hours. Strain and discard the flowers and return the gin to the bottle.

We love Lavender-Infused Gin for our summertime cocktails and use it to liven-up our gimlets and martinis. It provides pleasant lavender notes without overpowering the botanicals of the gin. And it’s easy to make! Simply put the lavender and the gin together and it basically makes itself. The amount of lavender we call for will not look like enough as you drop it in your jar. Relax! Don’t be tempted to add more. All will be fine. We made this, specifically, to use in the Lavender Hound, but check back often as we’ll be working to create other cocktails for it as well. Cheers!
