Gin (or Vodka) & Tonic

One of the most iconic drinks in cocktaildom, this classic is yet another gem brought to us by the Brits. Having to down their bitter anti-malarial potion – quinine – as they attended to their colonies around the globe, they did what they any good Englishman would do: add booze! Though not nearly as bitter as medicinal levels of quinine (originally obtained from the bark of the Peruvian cinchona tree), today’s Gin & Tonic provides a nice bitter edge which compliments the botanicals of the gin.
