Cucumber Gimlet

2014-10-02

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Gin
  • 1¼ oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1½ oz Simple Syrup
  • pinch Salt
  • 1” section of Cucumber (quartered)

  • Muddle the cucumber in the glass of a Boston Shaker. Add the remaining ingredients, with ice, and shake to chill. Strain into Martini Glass (or a Rocks glass over a large ice-cube) and garnish with a cucumber slice.

This delightful and refreshing summertime sipper is great for a relaxing luncheon or picnic. Choose a crisp, bright London Dry-style gin and a seeded cucumber (which provides more juice, when muddled, than the seedless variety). The cool cucumber notes meld perfectly with the tart lime and fragrant botanicals from the gin. If you enjoy this delicious cocktail, be certain to check out it’s cousin: the Basil-Cucumber Gimlet, as well.
