Mint Syrup

2014-02-02

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 handful Mint (about 1/2 cup)

  • Bring the water and sugar to a boil in a small Sauce Pan. Stir and simmer for 30 seconds. Remove from the heat and add the mint. Stir briefly and steep for 10 to 15 minutes (taking care to avoid pressing the mint against the side of the hot pan). Remove and discard the mint, Allow the syrup to cool and strain into a clean, stoppered, Glass Bottle. Store in refrigerator for up to 6 weeks.

We use our mint simple syrup in our Mint Julep and The Original Mint Julep as well as all the variations – like the Ginger Julep, and Elderflower Julep. It’s easy, so go ahead a make some!
